About the Bean...

In June of 2001, we opened a real brick-and-mortar shop, just
down the block from our current location. Our store name, The
Dilly Bean, came about for my love of pickles and the translation
of my maiden name (the bean). After 1 year we were doing so
well we decided to purchase our own building, which has become
a figurehead of the Monroe Downtown Square.

10 years later we're still Monroe's favorite variety store, with
everything you don't need... but can't live without! We pride
ourselves on friendly service and a positive and comfortable
shopping experience. Our new online stores, along with
connectivity through Facebook and Twitter, have helped us push
our prospects from local to national with more and more
customers experiencing our shop for the first time. Whether a
regular customer or a first time visitor - you're always welcome
at the Dilly Bean!

Cherie Hughes - Proprietor, The Dilly Bean Inc.

Cherie - Owner
Cherie has been in the retail business
for over 30 years now, starting as
Manager of Pipefitter in Madison.
She's combined everything she loves
from her past work experience into one
unique and eclectic shop!

Johnny - Operator
Johnny is known as the 'voice' of the
Dilly Bean and does all of the
advertising promotions, as well as runs
our online services and manages the
store itself!

Ashley - Sales Clerk
Ashley comes to us from the
restaurant service industry, but after 1
year with us, is quickly becoming a
skilled clerk. She is responsible for our
awesome window and clothing displays!

Tiffany - Sales Clerk
Tiffany is the newest addition to our
staff, and a quickly blossoming one.
She helps with our displays and serves
customers, but is also the reason our
store is so wonderfully clean!
